Renting at Wattai

To accept a booking for Wattai on Wategos Beach we require 50% deposit to be paid at the time of booking (either by cheque or bank transfer). The balance is strictly payable no later than 30 days prior to your arrival date.

No booking is considered confirmed until the 50% deposit is paid in full. We accept no responsibility for contacting you should you not meet this condition and your booking is replaced by another guest.

A booking fee of $50 is also payable.

In addition a refundable security deposit of $5,000 is payable at the time of final payment (30 days prior to arrival) and is a mandatory requirement.

If your final payment is not received in accordance with conditions above the cancellation provisions may be applied at our discretion.

We have worked very hard to make Wattai a fun, peaceful and great year round experience. We therefore ask that you agree to the following conditions before your stay at Wattai. We reserve the right to retain some or all of your security deposit if these conditions are not complied with.

Terms and Conditions

  1. No functions whatsoever are to be held at Wattai under any circumstances.
  2. Noise should be kept to a reasonable level at all times but especially after 9pm at night. Complaints will be dealt with according to law. Your guest lease is able to be terminated/or significant bond deductions made if police intervention is required (each issue independently dealt with). The Wategos permanent resident community is acutely sensitive to the noise and amenity issues and will not hesitate to report unacceptable behaviour.
  3. Care should be taken of all furniture and items in the house. Any breakages or damage to these should be reported to the house manager immediately for assessment. Key furniture moved from one area of the house to another is not permitted and any furniture out of place will be billed for relocation back to its original position
  4. We ask you to consider no pool or spa use after 10.00pm and no interference with any pool room equipment is allowed under any circumstances. Strictly no glass is to be taken inside the pool or spa area as it may not be easily recovered in event of breakage.
  5. As the house fronts the sea it is subject to a variety of weather conditions and these are unpredictable and at times severe. The roof top deck provides much fun and enjoyment but its use requires care in terms of making sure there is a lock down of all equipment, furnishings and the spa covers are secure. It will be necessary to ensure these are is inspected for safety and security each evening before retiring, or before a forecast weather event, or before departing the house for any extended period of time as weather can deteriorate quickly.
  6. No pets are allowed. External car parking only provided. The garage is not available unless otherwise agreed.
  7. No smoking is allowed inside the house and cigarette litter is to be disposed of in a responsible manner.
  8. Garbage has set nights and only bins with lids securely down will be taken. It is guests responsibility to put out the garbage on Sunday nights. Any excess rubbish is charged at $44.00 per hour to come and remove.
  9. One clean is provided per week. A linen change is provided to rentals of 14 days or more. If guests would like a linen change outside these time frames then it can be organised at time of booking and charged to the guest. Any clean above what is deemed "normal" by the House Manager will be charged at an hourly rate of $35.00 and deducted from the security deposit.
  10. WATTAI IS PRIVATELY OWNED AND THE PROPERTY IS ONLY LET ON A VERY LIMITED BASIS AND ON ONE KEY PRINCIPLE THAT TENANTS SHOW REASONABLE ENDEAVOR TO LEAVE IT IN MUCH THE SAME CONDITION AS THEY WERE INTRODUCED TO IT. IF NOT, PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL RECTIFICATION /RESTORATION WORK WILL BE BILLED AND RECOVERED FROM THE SECURITY DEPOSIT.

These conditions are needed to preserve the peace and harmony at Wattai and for its neighbours. We note that our house managers are also authorised to ask you to leave the house if they feel that proper care is not being taken of the property or these conditions are not being complied with.

Cancellations made 1 month prior to arrival date will result in a 50% refund. Cancellations less than one month prior to arrival date will result in a 25% refund. Cancellations less than 2 weeks prior to arrival date there will be no refund unless house is re-let. In all circumstances if the house is re-let their will be a pro-rata refund of monies forfeited as an expression of goodwill on our part less any re-letting costs.

All rates quoted are per week and are exclusive of GST.
